Congratulations to our Executive Director, Aubrey Hicks, on being honored next week as an “Impact-Maker to Watch” for 2020. The annual Impact-Makers to Watch Awards honors leaders making a positive impact in Los Angeles. Honorees are designated by LA leaders, including members of the LA City Council and Board of Supervisors.
The Bedrosian Center on Governance is very pleased to recognize Aubrey’s contribution not only the Center but to the greater Los Angeles community. Her work to bring attention to governance and policy issues extends beyond the boundaries of USC through the public programming of the center, partnerships with community organizations, and commitment to modeling best practices including working toward a more equitable, inclusive, and democratic university.
“Without community, you are nothing. These are the people proving that as an individual, you can captivate and activate others to create positive social change. In fact, you have to. Cities like LA are the result of people and places — and we’re lucky that these people are thinking about place in a way that makes it better for all of us,” states John Bwarie, CEO of Stratiscope and founder of the Impact-Makers awards.
Please join us in celebrating Aubrey and each of the award recipients who work to uplift and activate Los Angeles communities on Wednesday, January 29th at Los Angeles City Hall.
