This week at Bedrosian Center

Here’s a roundup of the things we have in store for the week ahead

Today several student leaders from campus to will Lunch with a Leader (Austin Beutner). We’re lining up monthly Lunches for next semester, with visitors like Yvonne Brathwaite Burke early in the semester – we’ll keep you posted on that front.

Next semester, we will also launch our Leading from the West speaker series, with the first event on February 19th. Raphael (our Director) will lead a discussion with Richard J. Riordan, former Mayor of Los Angeles.

The Price Governance Salon series will continue with presentations by Scott Desposato and Dan Carpenter. In addition, we’ll have the Bedrosian Center Award Seminars this Spring with presentations by four Price faculty. The Consortium on Collaborative Governance visits will also continue with a visit from Laura Evans.

Here is another highlight of what we will be reading over the winter break. This book has a broader scope that we usually focus on, but with the reviews it’s been getting, it’s hard not to be excited about it.

“Ranging from imperial Rome to modern Botswana, this book will change the way people think about the wealth and poverty of nations…as ambitious as Jared Diamond’s Guns, Germs, and Steel.”

We’ve got a board on Pinterest with all the things we’re reading, check it out if you like that sort of thing.
