Danielle Williams

Danielle Williams is a Ph.D. Candidate at the USC Price School of Public Policy. A fourth year student in the Public Policy and Management program, her research interests include program evaluation, prisoner reentry policy, anti-poverty programs, and education policy. Her most recent project is an evaluation of a pilot program undertaken by the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles that allows recently released formerly incarcerated people to live with family members receiving rental assistance and links them to supportive services in the hopes of smoothing their reintegration into civilian life. Typically, families receiving rental assistance are not permitted to have a formerly incarcerated person live with them in their home. Her hope is that this research will better inform policies aimed at solving the current mass incarceration crisis.

Before attending the University of Southern California, Danielle completed her Masters in Public Policy at American University in Washington, DC, and her BA at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. During her time in the doctoral program, she has enjoyed her time as teacher assistant and currently serves as a Teaching Assistant Fellow at USC’s Center for Excellence in Teaching. Post-graduation, she hopes to continue her involvement with both research and teaching by pursing a career in academia.
