Lunch with a Leader: MINA CHOW

Mina Chow is interdisciplinary faculty, a licensed architect and filmmaker who teaches 1st year building science studio and professional practice at USC. She is bringing attention to the importance of architecture and the image of America as witnessed in World’s Fair pavilions and beyond. 

For generations of Americans, World’s Fairs captured visions of hope for the future as part of their collective memory. Mina Chow became fascinated with them when she saw pictures of her parents at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. Mina explores the reasons and the importance of cultural diplomacy through architecture and public policy in her documentary, “Face of a Nation: What happened to the World’s Fair.” Her efforts have reached the right audience…LEGISLATORS.

Lunch with a Leader provides students, faculty, and members of the public the opportunity to hear ideas from local, state, and national leaders, share their own ideas, and gain inspiration for effective governance in a more intimate and informal setting.
