Strategic Sustainability Plans and Actions in California Cities

October 27, 2014 @ 11:45 am - 1:15 pm

Bedrosian Center Research Awards
Examining Strategic Sustainability Plans and
Rigorous Sustainability Actions in California Cities

Myungjung Kwon
California State University Fullerton
Shui-Yan Tang
University of Southern California

Drs Kwon and Tang will discuss their paper, co-authored with Cheongsin Kim of Boise State University, presenting evidence that local government leaders must overcome many public management, socio-economic, political, and institutional obstacles in order to adopt a meaningful strategic plan for climate protection and/or energy use and to implement it successfully.

Given many potential obstacles, what types of strategic sustainability plans and actions are more likely than others to be adopted by cities?

Join us as we learn about and discuss about this important question.
