The Holt Lecture: Journalism, Accountability, Power
April 19, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Holt Lecture featuring Frederick J. Ryan, Jr.
Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of The Washington Post. Frederick J. Ryan, Jr. previously served as the President and COO of Allbritton Communications Company and Founding CEO and President of POLITICO. He was the Chief of Staff for President Ronald Reagan (1989–1995), and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation. Ryan is a Trustee at the University of Southern California (Fight on!).
This is a man who knows a thing or two about communication and policy. We are pleased to have Fred Ryan for the 2017 Holt Lecture.
Following Ryan’s keynote will be a conversation with Raphael Bostic, the Chair of the Department of Governance, Management and the Policy Process, and then Q&A with the audience.
The Holt Lecture, a speaker’s series focused on communication and politics, was established by longtime Price School board of councilors member Dennis Holt (founding chairman and CEO of U.S. International Media) and his wife, Brooks. In 2012, the Bedrosian Center became a partner in delivering programming associated with the Holt Lecture. Past speakers include Dana Perino, LeVar Burton, Nate Silver, Robert Caro, and George Will.
Holt programs support prominent practitioners, influential policy makers, and visiting scholars, who come to USC to give lectures, meet with students, faculty members, and the public to discuss issues and research in communication and public policy.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
All Holt Lecture guests should park in PSX OR PSA (Parking Structures).
Upon entering either of the parking structures, there will be a parking fee of $12 per car. The parking attendant will have further instructions on where to park.
A detailed and printable map of campus can be found here.
You may also take the Metro Expo line, which has three stops conveniently located around the USC campus. The most direct stop is the Expo Park/USC stop. Use the Metro Trip Planner to find your route!
