Gavin Newsom’s blackout dilemma: Anger is easy, but fixes are tough

San Fransisco Chronicle quoted Sherry Bebitch Jeffe of the USC Price School on Governor Gavin Newsom’s response to the recent California blackouts.

“In politics, perception is reality and that applies to the governor and certainly PG&E,” she said. Newsom “has to look like he’s doing something … to resolve the problem.”

“Right now, it seems like there’s a leadership vacuum in Sacramento,” both from the governor and the Legislature, she said. “And what’s the purpose of government, if not to deal with problems like this?”
