Here’s what happens when you report a sexual assault in Los Angeles

LAist quoted Ange-Marie Hancock Alfaro of the USC Dornsife College on what happens to those who report sexual assaults in Los Angeles.

“Ange-Marie Hancock Alfaro, Chair of Gender Studies at USC, said the underreporting is part of the reason many women don’t know exactly what a rape kit entails.

“People don’t understand the process, because they’re not actually hearing from either friends or family, or even out on social media, what exactly is involved when you make a report of sexual assault or rape,” she said.”
