Kim Simon is the Managing Director of the USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education, which manages one of the largest digital collections of its kind in the world. Kim has been with the Institute since its start in 1994 and has played a key role in the development and implementation of public engagement programs that connect USC Shoah Foundation to many audiences. She also works on global initiatives, media production, the collection of new testimonies, and the identification of areas of current conflict. Kim served as the Interim Executive Director, and in this role, she played a key role in expanding the Institute to gather testimonies from victims of genocide and mass violence outside of the Holocaust. She was also a guiding force in the creation of the Institute’s online platforms which allows their collection of 55,000 testimonies to be accessed by educators and students from all over the world. Kim is passionate about advancing the Institute’s mission to overcome prejudice, intolerance, and hatred through educational programs using their Visual History Archive.
