Policy at the Playhouse: Real Women Have Curves

Published by USC Bedrosian Center on

Policy at the Playhouse, recognizes that conversations about governance take place in many different fora and are voiced by many different communities.

The Bedrosian Center is teaming up with the Pasadena Playhouse to lead an audience discussion after a performance of Real Women Have Curves, a stage play written by LA playwright Josefina Lopez.  The play, set in a tiny sewing factory in East Los Angeles circa 1987, takes on issues of gender politics and the immigrant experience.  Join us for the show and a discussion of timely issues around gender, immigration, pay equity and community.

The play will be followed by a panel discussion with Bedrosian Center faculty affiliate, Nicole Esparza, politician and a former member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Gloria Molina, director Seema Sueko and cast members discussing the play’s themes as they relate to governance.
