Promoting Health in Underserved Communities

Published by USC Bedrosian Center on

As part of the REACH Demonstration Project evaluation, researchers at USC Price worked with high school-aged student focus groups to assess the barriers and facilitators to healthy food, active living resources, and health care services in an underserved urban community.

Findings from this student focus group study indicate the importance of increasing access to school-based nutritional resources, participation in physical activity programs, and the use of health care services.
