Policy at the Playhouse, recognizes that conversations about governance take place in many different fora and are voiced by many different communities.
This fall we will once again lead a Tuesday talk back — this time after a perfromance of Real Women Have Curves, a stage play by LA playwrite Josefina Lopez, set in a tiny sewing factory in East Los Angeles circa 1987. It’s a comedy marked by the issues of gender politics and the Latina immigrant experience.
The play will be followed by a panel discussion titled Women At Work: How Los Angeles Is Working To Strengthen Women In The Work Force with USC Price Bedrosian Center faculty affiliate, Nicole Esparza, politician and a former member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Gloria Molina, the play’s director, Seema Sueko and cast members.
